Family worship should be a Priority in your home

This guide will explain why a family should have family worship time and offer practical advice about leading your family in worship. There are also step-by-step guides for reading scripture, praying with your family, singing praise songs, memorizing Scripture, and learning a catechism.  There are also 61 verses of Scripture that your family can learn together.

Consider the following information from Senior Pastor, Craig Thompson:

Family worship should be a priority in your home because the home is the training ground for biblical formation in the lives of your children. It is the responsibility of parents, and primarily of fathers, to provide Christian instruction in the home for the purpose of raising your children to know and fear the Lord. The church is God’s chosen instrument to proclaim his glory to the nations, but churches are made up of families, and the strongest churches are made of families who worship together in their homes as well as at the church.

The final responsibility for the spiritual formation of your children falls into the laps of parents. The church is not tasked with raising your children, but rather with coming alongside you to help you raise your children to know the Lord and serve him. Deuteronomy 6:6-7 says, “And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.” The task and privilege of raising children is given by God to parents.
